History

Montreal Heart of the City Piano Program (MHCPP) is a chapter of the national organization Heart of the City Piano Program. The first chapter was founded in Saskatchewan in 1995, while the Montreal chapter was started in November 2007 by Bettina Quintoro. Since then, MHCPP has offered tuition-free piano lessons to at-risk children at English and French elementary schools in Montreal. Led by a team of dedicated volunteers affiliated with the Students’ Society of McGill University, the Montreal chapter has grown over the years to foster partnerships with four different schools: Barthelemy-Vimont, Champlain, Edward Murphy, and St. Gabriel.
